These 5 features coming soon to Apple Music (with iOS 26.4)

iOS 26.4 is again packed with updates and improvements, including 5 new features for Apple Music – you can expect these soon.

5 features of Apple Music in iOS 26.4

We expect iOS 26.4 in the second half of March and then 5 useful new features will also come to Apple Music. We have listed them for you.

1. Playlist Playground

In iOS 26.4, Apple Music gets a new one Apple Intelligence-function: Playlist Playground. Then, when you create a new playlist in the Music app, you’ll see the option to enter a prompt that AI can use to automatically build a playlist. The Music app also offers suggested prompts you can use to get started.

You can always manually add and remove songs to your liking, and submit follow-up requests. But Playlist Playground is a useful starting point for new playlists.

2. New design for albums and playlists

Apple is giving albums and playlists a new full-screen design in iOS 26.4. From now on, the album cover or playlist will be used for the entire background. So if an album has a bold blue color in its cover art, a similar blue color will fill the entire screen. Sometimes complementary colors are also used, such as a black background when the album cover has shades of white and gray.

3. Background Music Widget

Last year, Apple launched the Background Music feature for the Control Center. This allows you to quickly and easily play music for one of the following four moods:

  • Sleep;
  • Relaxed;
  • Productivity;
  • Well-being.

In iOS 26.4, this feature is available via a new widget on the home screen. Small and medium widgets are available.

4. Add songs to multiple playlists at once

In iOS 26.4, a new feature in Apple Music makes it easy to add a song to multiple playlists at once. There is a new selection button in the bottom right corner. When you tap that, you can select multiple playlists at once. It’s just a small change that’s useful if you want to quickly add something to different playlists.

5. Concert information

Apple integrates concert information directly into the Music app in iOS 26.4. Artist profiles will now be marked “Upcoming Concerts” when concert information is available. You can scroll further down to see all upcoming performances. When you tap a specific concert in Apple Music, the feature will give you a link to purchase tickets, plus information about the location, showtime, and more.

This is when you can expect iOS 26.4

It is almost certain that iOS 26.4 will not be released until the second half of March. Similar updates previously appeared in the middle or last week of March. A release in the week of March 23 or March 30 is therefore likely. Don’t want to miss any of it? Then sign up for our newsletter and we will automatically keep you informed!
