Apple is working on 3 new AI products
According to a new message from Bloomberg, Apple is currently accelerating development of three new wearable AI products. We have listed them for you.
1. Smart glasses
The smart glasses will reportedly come equipped with a high-resolution camera for taking photos and videos, designed to compete with Meta’s smart glasses. Apple is said to have made significant progress with these glasses in recent months. The glasses do not have a display, but use speakers, microphones and cameras.
Apple’s prototypes have two camera lenses. One for high-resolution photos and videos and one for ‘computer vision’ that gives the device contextual information about its surroundings. With this contextual information, the glasses could potentially provide the same functionality as Visual Intelligence on the iPhone. That context could also be used for more precise navigation in Apple Maps, integration into the Reminders app, and more.
2. AI pin
Apple is also working on an AI pin/AI pendant/AI button. The Information reported on the AI product in AirTag format last month, describing it as a thin, flat, circular drive with an aluminum and glass casing, equipped with two cameras, a speaker and three microphones.
The AI Pendant will not have a display or projector system and will likely rely heavily on an iPhone for processing. Apple anticipates that users will wear the AI pin with a clip on their clothing or as a necklace. The product is still in its early stages and is still subject to cancellation. But if Apple goes ahead with it, it could hit the market as soon as next year.
3. AirPods with camera
Apple is also working on AirPods with a camera, which may be launched this year. According to rumors, what you can do with this is a bit similar to the Visual Intelligence function that Apple introduced for the iPhone 16. This allows you to get more information about the subject picked up by the camera using Apple Intelligence. For example, it is possible to scan the information from a flyer and automatically put it in your agenda. If this feature also comes to the AirPods, you could ask Siri something about your environment without first taking the iPhone out of your pocket.
