Apple reveals product
It’s a busy week for Apple! The company has already released six new products, including the iPhone 17e and the iPad Air 2026. We also saw new MacBooks and the Studio Display (XDR). Apple is expected to make another announcement today, as the company is organizing a special event at 3:15 PM (Dutch time). A new device is expected at this event.
It is now clear which device Apple will announce on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 3:15 PM, because the device has already surfaced on the company’s website. Apple accidentally put the MacBook Neo online when announcing the MacBook Air 2026 and the MacBook Pro 2026. The most important product of the week has already been revealed by Apple, which will be the completely new MacBook Neo.
MacBook Neo
On Apple’s own website, the MacBook Neo was temporarily visible in the list of MacBooks of 2026. Apple almost immediately removed the laptop from the overview, so no further information about the MacBook Neo is known. In any case, Apple has revealed which product we can expect today, which will be the entry-level model of the MacBook. With the MacBook Neo as the name, previous rumors seem to be confirmed.
Rumors that Apple is working on a cheaper MacBook have been going on for months. The entry-level model reportedly runs on the A18 Pro or A19 Pro chip, which we previously saw in the iPhone 16 Pro (Max) and the iPhone 17 Pro (Max). The MacBook Neo will be the first Mac ever to run on an iPhone chip. This has several advantages, such as the processor is energy efficient and relatively cheap to make. The battery life and starting price thus become the most important reasons to choose the MacBook Neo.
Release very soon
Furthermore, the MacBook Neo will reportedly have a 12.9-inch screen, two USB-C ports and support for WiFi 7. Charging is done with the MagSafe port, which was previously not expected on the affordable MacBook. According to rumors, the MacBook Neo will appear in a range of striking colors. It is expected that the laptop will soon be available in yellow, blue, pink and possibly green. A silver variant is also an option.
It is still unclear whether Apple has revealed the final name of the product, because the company often uses temporary names for new devices. The MacBook Neo can also be a name that was used internally, in which case the laptop will be given a different name.
