A considerable collection of special Peugeots and Citroëns is auctioned in France. From unique classic creations to a recent Dakar winner; there is everything in between.
In France there are many places with special heirlooms from other times and now a layer of dust from all kinds of special cars and memorabilia from Peugeot and Citroën is covered. In three weeks time, an auction will take place in the Peugeot museum in Sochaux with a series of special features.
The cheapest items offered by auction house Aguttes are auctioned are posters of various fairly recent Peugeots and Citroëns, but paintings by André Citroën are also offered. More interesting are the cars that go under the hammer. For example, there is a Peugeot 301 from 1932, an early Citroën 2CV AZ (from 1957) and a prototype of the Citroën Visa from 1978.

Then we haven’t had the real showpieces yet. What about the above creation; a Peugeot 404 Familiale with a rear on the spot of the nose. This special case is expected to be hammered away for between € 3,500 and € 5,500. For lovers of real beauty, there is (see main photo) a Citroën DS Décapotable (expected sale from € 160,000) and a beautiful Peugeot 203 Cabriolet (€ 60,000 – € 80,000).
Opportunities
Those who really want something really special can bid on a Citroën DS3 WRC driven by Sébastian Loeb in the WRC, a Peugeot 2008 DKR16 that won the Dakar rally in 2016 (minimum € 450,000) and a prototype of the 405 MI16 4×4 (€ 60,000 – € 80,000). In addition, there are also a number of concept cars among the cars on offer. For example, there is the Tulip Concept from 1995, for which it is expected to catch only € 7,500 to € 9,500. The Peugeot Flux Concept from 2007 (see photo above) is estimated a bit higher. In addition, the auction house is betting on a yield of € 45,000 to € 50,000. Also included is an early 1: 1 scale model by Pininfarina of the 407 Coupé, which you can possibly already own for a few thousand euros.
