Do we remember the H300? That spacious and practical Hyundai passenger van whose brand also supplied delivery versions? The current model dates from 2007, but a new generation is finally on the way!
Just rewind. Hyundai launched the first series of the Starex in 1999, a delivery van of which passenger versions were also available. In the Netherlands, the H200 was in the price list. In 2007, the successor H300 was presented, the second generation that is still for sale new in 2020, albeit no longer in the Netherlands. The H300, which has names such as (Grand) Starex, Starex Royale, H1, iMax and i800 in other markets, has been facelifted several times over the years. The side-by-point session that was implemented in 2018 suddenly gave the bus a much more modern appearance. Even so, that upgrade could no longer disguise the fact that the practical Korean has now been on the market for 13 years. A series of spy plates shows that Hyundai finally has a head-to-toe revised successor in the pipeline.
Hyundai H300 (2007 -)
The passenger bus in these photos is still richly covered with camouflage material, but some interesting details are already visible. For example, the successor to the H300 will have a more sloping muzzle and the front will be equipped with a grille that extends over almost the entire width of the front. Near the grille, some of the headlights can already be seen, which suggests that the H300 successor, like the Sante Fe and the new Tucson, will receive lighting that is spread over two floors. The larger diamond section is also striking. In the front doors, Hyundai uses windows that dive further down into the body than on the current version of the H300. The rest of the coach is designed according to a known recipe, and that means that the H300 / Starex will soon be again a mainly practical bus equipped with sliding doors that must offer a lot of cargo space. Little can be said about the interior. However, it seems indisputable that the bus will have a dashboard with a large vertically oriented display in the center console.
