The most exciting Hyundai of the last few years has to be the i30 N, an outright hot hatch that also got an equally nice brother in the form of the i30 N Fastback. The i30 was facelifted at the beginning of this year, but the facelifted i30 N kept Hyundai under its cap for a while. Now that spectacular hot hatch has also been renewed.
We can be brief about the appearance of the renewed i30 N. That looks just as thick as that of the already known version. Of course, the i30 N also benefits from the arrival of the updated grille and modified bumpers that brought the refresh to the regular i30s. The same applies to the headlights, which are also in line with those of the facelifted regular i30s and include V-shaped LED daytime running lights. We also observe the well-known new light units at the back. The blowpipes at the bottom of the buttocks seem to have grown slightly. The 19-inch light alloy under the car is apparently completely new. Fortunately, the signature paint color Performance Blue returns.
Until now, the i30 N, like the i30 N Fastback, was only available with a manual six-speed gearbox. The renewed i30 N is also back with that manual gearbox, but for the first time it is now also available with a new eight-speed automatic transmission with double clutch. That machine has been baptized N DCT. The machine has three modes, among other things: N Grin Shift, in which you get the maximum engine power for 20 seconds, N Power Shift where the machine shifts up faster and N Track Sense Shift where everything is adjusted to be able to go as fast as possible on circuits. scrubbing.
Power
That is not the only technical adjustment. The engine is also being tackled. The horny four-cylinder stamps out in the base just like before 250 hp and 353 Nm. A Performance Package is now also available. The i30 N Performance Package now delivers 280 hp and 392 Nm. The i30 N Performance is now 5 hp and 39 Nm more powerful than before. The 250 hp strong flavor can only be obtained with the manual transmission. The i30 N Performance not only has more torque, the Newton meters are now available from lower revs. The maximum torque is already released at 1,950. Both the 250 hp and the 280 hp i30 N have a top speed of 250 km / h. The version with Performance Package sprints to a speed of 100 km / h in 5.9 seconds, 0.2 count faster than the previous i30 N with Performance Package. Hyundai says it has further revised the steering system. At the rear, the i30 N benefits from the addition of an additional stabilizer bar.
The i30 N is standard on 18-inch large light alloy. The i30 N with Performance Package has new 19-inch alloy wheels with five double spokes. Behind it there are brake calipers. Pirelli P-Zero tires are folded around the i30 N Performance Package’s alloy. The 250 hp i30 N also features sports-oriented rubber with Michilin Pilot Super Sport. The interior is, as before, a lot sportier than that of the conventional i30s. New are the seat belts in Performance Blue and accents in the spare color. More interesting are the new optional N sports seats that Hyundai is spooning into the i30 N. These bucket seats each weigh 2.2 kilos less than the regular seats. These N Light Seats baptized seats are covered with leather and alcantara. These seats are also finished with Performance Blue colored stitching. The illuminated N logos in the headrests are striking.
Lightweight
For the first time, optional lightweight N sports seats are available in the Hyundai i30 N. These specially developed one-piece bucket seats are 2.2 kg lighter than the standard seats. The pronounced cheeks provide optimal lateral support. These so-called N Light Seats are covered with premium leather and Alcantara with stitching in Performance Blue and have an illuminated N logo on the integrated headrests.
Hyundai is also expanding the number of safety systems. New features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Following Assist, Blind Spot Collision Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Assist and – Warning. The renewed i30 N will be at dealers later this year.
