A first: New Isuzu MU-X from all angles!

Techzle has exclusive patent plates for a completely new SUV from Isuzu. It seems to be a completely new generation of the MU-X.

In the depths of a Japanese patent office, Techzle has managed to dig up the patent plates of a completely new SUV from Isuzu. It appears to be the all-new MU-X, a seven-seat SUV based on the D-Max. Last year, Isuzu presented a D-Max renewed to the smallest nut to the world around this time. That pick-up, Isuzu’s equivalent of cars like the Mitsubishi L200 and Toyota Hilux, was transferred to a new Isuzu-developed platform that Mazda has been using since this year under its comparable pick-up: the BT-50. Since 2013, Isuzu has been supplying the MU-X, a seven-seater SUV with the same ladder chassis as the previous generation D-Max. That car will of course also be renewed soon and it seems very strongly that the new SUV on these patent plates registered by Isuzu is the new MU-X.

The outgoing MU-X has a front that is almost identical to that of the D-Max, but this completely new generation gets a much more individual look. The muzzle design has a Mazda-like appearance with its chrome-colored strips under the headlight units. The new MU-X, of which the current generation was last facelifted in 2017, looks at least a lot more modern than its predecessor. Isuzu will most likely put on the engine list at least the same 1.9 diesel and the 190 hp and 450 Nm strong 3.0 diesel that it also delivers in the new D-Max. Whether Isuzu will lend its D-Max and MU-X to partner General Motors again for the next generation of the Colorado and the Trailblazer remains to be seen. The Trailblazer was presented in a facelifted form this year, although it is quite possible that the car will also receive a completely new generation based on the new D-Max / MU-X last in the foreseeable future.

In Europe you do not have to expect the new MU-X, because the current generation is also not available here.
