This is the BMW 4-series Convertible!

BMW has pulled both cloth and roof from the 4-series Cabrio, making the 3- and 4-series family almost complete! Remarkably, the brand new 4-series Cabrio has no steel folding roof, but just a conventional fabric hood.

A strong wind of innovation is blowing at BMW. The brand has facelifted the 5-series in a short time, came up with the 4-series not long ago and introduced the new M3 and M4 to the world a few weeks ago. That fantastic M4 is certainly not the latest news for the 4-series, a model line that currently only consists of the 4-series Coupé. There is also a brand new 4-series Gran Coupé, an electric alternative thereof (i4) and a new 4-series Cabrio in the barrel. The latter has now also been added to the BMW family.

The biggest news with the 4-series Cabrio is of course in the roof construction. Of course, the 4-series Cabrio is again a cut-open version of the 4-series Coupé, but unlike the outgoing model, the new 4-series Cabrio does not get a complex heavy steel folding roof. No, BMW is simply giving the 4-series a fabric hood as it last applied in this model line to the 3-series Convertible that was delivered until the mid-2000s, the E46.

The new 4-series Cabrio will be at dealers in March next year. Prices will follow in the run-up to the market launch.
