During the Geneva Motor Show, Kia puts the spotlight on the brand new Sorento, but there is also news that relates to a smaller model. Today we see the first evidence that a facelift for the Rio is imminent.
It is September 2016 when Kia presents the fourth generation of the Rio and that means that the counterpart of cars like the Hyundai i20 and Opel Corsa is now about 3.5 years old. Although the Rio is only facelifted, the test sample caught in Sweden hangs very fanatically in the stickers.
What Kia is going to trim, remains to be seen. Of course, count on customary adjustments to bumpers and light units on both front and rear. At the technical level, we also expect no big surprises, although it is quite possible that Kia is examining the existing engine range and is able to save a few grams of CO2. The Hyundai i20, the technical brother of the Rio, will be helped to a completely new generation during the Geneva Motor Show. The new i20 undoubtedly gives a lot away from the completely new Rio to be presented in a few years.
Kia sold 899 Rios in our country last year, considerably less than the more than 2,000 copies sold in 2018.
