Price regular Volkswagen ID3 known

One tour of the Randstad is enough to see that the electric Volkswagen ID3 is now being delivered, but the range is still far from complete. After three introductory versions with the name ‘1st’, it is now the turn of the first versions from the regular range.

Until now, the Volkswagen ID3 is available as 1st, 1st Plus and 1st Max, three introductory versions that can be recognized by the cheerful sticker on the C-pillar. Now ” normal ‘variants are also being added to the delivery program, although you should not expect any new battery packs or excessive price differences.

For the time being, the ID3 will only be available with the 204 hp powertrain and a 58 kWh battery pack. The version with the larger 77 kWh battery will follow at the beginning of 2021, with which the maximum range will increase from 425 to 542 km.

However, the 58 kWh version can now be ordered as ID3 Life and ID3 Business. At € 37,890, this version is cheaper than the simplest ID3 1st, but the difference is no more than € 100. For that money, a 1st offers a better appearance, because the Life lacks the 18-inch light metal of the introduction version in addition to the aforementioned sticker. Instead, the new slip-on gets, yes, 18-inch steel wheels with hubcaps.

However, it is not entirely possible to make do with the cheapest ID3. All-round LED lighting, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, seat and steering wheel heating and navigation are also standard on this version.

Those who want more can opt for the Business. With a price tag of € 41,490, it is between the 1st and 1st Plus (€ 43,990). For that money you still get those hubcaps, but also the more extensive LED lighting all around, a nicer decorated interior, a reversing camera and Keyless Access.

Also for the Life and the Business applies that there are actually no factory options available, only accessories. Volkswagen is sailing a clearly different course with the ID3 than with the more traditional range, where the separate options can significantly drive up the price. There is, however, news in the field of colors. Where the 1st versions stuck to four shades, Life and Business buyers are presented with a palette of six colors. Stonewashed Blue and Scale Silver, both shown in the photos above, are new.
