The new entry-level battery pack for the Kia e-Niro makes the electric SUV more affordable. That provides a low addition in 2021 for business drivers.

Kia completes the range of the e-Niro with a compact 39.2 kWh battery. The range of 289 km (according to the WLTP test) will also be sufficient in practice (say about 220 km) for many car drivers. With a 3-phase charger, the battery pack can be charged in over 4 hours. The battery pack is combined with an electric motor that can produce 100 kW (or 136 hp) of power.

The new version makes the electric Niro more accessible than ever. You order the 39.2 kWh variant from 35,995 euros – and Kia temporarily provides another 4,000 euros EV bonus. Kia Autolease offers the e-Niro with a private lease from 449 euros per month. The low price is also good news for business lease drivers: three versions with the entry-level battery, but also one of the 64.0 kWh variants that are already for sale, fall under the low addition rate that applies from 2021. The deliveries will start in mid-January.

Equipment

The e-Niro 39.2 kWh can already be ordered now, in four trim levels. The basic level is called ComfortLine and is standard equipped with a digital instrument panel, 8 inch multimedia screen, smartphone exchange via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reversing camera, alloy wheels, an emergency braking system, lane assist, adaptive cruise control and high beam assist.

On the DynamicLine you also get roof rails, a rain sensor, automatically dimming interior mirror and the 11 kW 3-phase on-board charger. A sliding / tilting roof, front seat heating, steering wheel heating and parking sensors are part of the DynamicPlusLine level. The top model ExecutiveLine provides blind spot detection, a JBL Premium Sound System, wireless smartphone charging function, leather upholstery and more luxurious equipment.

The 64 kWh e-Niro now has a towing weight of 300 kg with 100 kg nose weight; with which you can, for example, transport electric bicycles. A kit with a bicycle rack hook is available for the new 39.2 kWh variant.
