Ford Ranger also available as a Chassis Cab for superstructure

Ford has stripped the Ranger of its cargo box and now also supplies the pick-up with a bare chassis as a ‘chassis cab’. With this variant, customers can choose a superstructure according to their wishes and the Ranger can be used more widely. He is also coming to the Netherlands.

In terms of construction, there are countless possibilities for the Ranger chassis cab. Behind the single cabin, the desired construction may be a total of 2.5 meters long and the maximum permitted total curb weight is 3,270 kilograms, made possible by the leaf springs at the rear. The chassis cab has a single cabin and is based on the Ranger XL, the utilitarian variant of the regular Ranger. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine with 170 hp and 420 Nm of torque, which is linked to a manual six-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the chassis cab has adjustable four-wheel drive that can also direct all drive to the rear wheels if desired.

Ford also has a chassis variant of the Transit in the price list. With the Ranger, the brand aims at companies and organizations that often operate in more difficult terrain, for example construction companies and rescue services. The Ranger chassis cab will be available from January 2021. Ford Netherlands has opposite Techzle confirmed that this variant is also coming to the Netherlands. Prices are not yet known and will follow at a later date.
