The new European top version of the Ford Mustang, the Mach 1, is included in the Dutch price list. You have to dig deep into your pockets, but then you also have something.
The Ford Mustang Mach 1 returned to the scene last June. After 17 years, the Americans thought it was time to dust off the iconic name and stick it on the type that would bridge the gap between the Mustang GT and the Shelby GT350. The latter is indeed clearing the field, but for the Dutch market it would mean that the Mach 1 would be the crème de la crème anyway. After all, the Shelby versions are not officially available here. About three months ago, the arrival of the Mach 1 was confirmed, now we know that it must cost at least € 115,115 here.
A lot of money, roughly € 17,000 more than you have lost for the GT. However, you will be pampered with the Mach 1. The Mustang will have a modified chassis with MagneRide dampers, improved stabilizer bars and power steering, but also more power. The 5.0-liter V8 squeezes out 460 hp and 529 Nm, 10 hp more than in the GT. Incidentally, it also extends 1,000 rpm further than usual. A modified exhaust system, which can be opened via valves for extra ‘noise’, also makes the V8 scream even louder. The Tremec six-speed gearbox also has shorter shifting distances. The ten-speed automatic transmission is also available.
According to Ford, the ‘best steering Mustang’ does not go unnoticed from the outside that it is a Mach 1. Among other things, stronger bumper work with larger air intakes, a unique grille, a spoiler and thick diffuser at the rear, special striping all around and of course various Mach 1 logos remind you of this. In the interior, it is reflected in special stitching, logos, a different gear lever and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.
The Mustang Mach 1 can now also be configured and ordered in the Netherlands. Ford Nederland informs Techzle that the first copies are expected to be delivered in May.
