For the time being, the Cupra Formentor with the 310 hp 2.0 TSI is the only engine with which you can buy the Spanish SUV in the Netherlands. From April, however, two plug-in hybrids are also on the Dutch price list. Cupra is now taking the Formentor e-Hybrid and Formentor VZ e-Hybrid onto the digital stage.
The Cupra Formentor 310 is a pretty potent crossover with its 310 hp 2.0 TSI. Those who think they need more power can eventually opt for the Cupra Formentor VZ5, with a 390 hp 2.5 five-cylinder from Audi as the power plant. No need for enormous amounts of horsepower, but still interested in the Cupra Formentor? Then wait until April. From that month, two plug-in hybrid e-Hybrids will also be on the Dutch price list.
Plug-in hybrid
The Formentor e-Hybrid has a 150 hp and 250 Nm 1.4 TSI petrol engine under the hood, which works together with an electric motor of 110 hp, good for a system power of 204 hp. This means that the Formentor e-Hybrid has a speed of 100 km / h on the clock in 7.8 counts. Its top speed is 205 km / h. One step above the e-Hybrid is the VZ e-Hybrid. It also has a 1.4 TSI and an electric motor, although these power sources together provide a system power of 245 hp. The VZ e-Hybrid shoots to 100 km / h in 7 seconds. More interesting is of course the electric range. Both hybrids have a 13 kWh battery pack. That gives the 204 hp Formentor e-Hybrid an electric driving range of 58 kilometers. The more powerful Formentor VZ e-Hybrid comes 54 kilometers on one battery charge. The battery pack can be fully charged at the wallbox (3.6 kW) in 3 hours and 40 minutes. The top speed is 140 km / h in electric mode.
The powertrains of these Formentors are of course not completely new. We know the hardware from the Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Golf GTE, Seat / Cupra Leon, Audi Q3 and Audi A3 Sportback, among others.
Recognition
From the outside, the novices can be recognized by the tailgate on the right front screen and the copper-colored exhaust openings at the bottom of the buttocks. The interior of the Formentor VZ e-Hybrid distinguishes itself with dark instead of silver aluminum accents of its less potent brother. The VZ also has a steering wheel with Cupra button, a control element that allows you to choose from different driving modes. Cupra’s Digital Cockpit is standard on both plug-in hybrids.
The Cupra Formentor e-Hybrid and Formentor VZ e-Hybrid can be ordered from April. Prices will follow in the run-up to the Dutch market introduction.
