Toyota Yaris Car of the Year 2021
The Toyota Yaris has been voted European Car of the Year 2021. The jury praises many of its properties, but especially the economical and fun-to-drive hybrid drive.
The Car of the Year was announced yesterday from Geneva via a live stream. And it is … the Toyota Yaris! Also in 2000, the model won the most prestigious award in the European car market. Later generations were nominated, but with the all-new, fourth generation, Toyota takes home the main prize again.
Not satisfied with the best full-hybrid in the segment, Toyota decided to make it even better
The jury praised the fact that the Yaris – more than other B-segment models – remains compact but takes over the qualities from higher segments, such as quality, safety and comfort equipment, performance and handling.
The highlight is the hybrid powertrain, which provides 90 percent of Yaris sales in our country. A jury member says: “Not satisfied with the best full-hybrid in the segment, Toyota decided to make it even better. More efficient, easier to use and now it’s a pleasure to drive.”
The new, attractive design is also appreciated by the jury of 59 independent, professional automotive journalists from 22 European countries. They also looked at price, economy, environmental aspects, handling, safety, comfort and design.
