Techzle 11 is now in the shops or will fall on your doorstep this week. What are you reading in our packed magazine this week?
As you can see on the cover of Techzle 11, we kick off immediately in Start with an extensive story about the future and history of the Volkswagen Passat. After all, there is ‘just’ a new generation arriving, although in the present time that is actually not so self-evident anymore. We look ahead at how Volkswagen will tackle this and what we can broadly expect from it.
Of course we also get behind the wheel of some newcomers, but to start with we drive with two cars that start the second round thanks to a breath of fresh air: the Kia Stonic and the Opel Crossland. Especially the latter looks with its ‘Vizor Grille’ quite different than before and will get a new top version. The Stonic also throws it with the GT-Line on a somewhat sportier tour, so time to put the two compact crossovers next to each other.
Much higher in the food chain we find the Audi A6 Avant and Volvo V90 above. Both with a plug, because in order to keep such battleships a bit affordable, partly electric propulsion can of course offer a solution. In addition, it also provides a nice extra punch power for both models. We find out whether we would go for the German or the Swede.
Not new, but also again, is the Suzuki Swace. Essentially a Toyota Corolla with a different nose and Suzuki logos on it, or is there more to it? Like the Across, a rebadged Toyota RAV4, it is a great car by Suzuki standards. Which buyer group Suzuki can serve with this and whether there might be Corolla customers going to the Suzuki showroom, should be apparent from our first driving test.
On our occasion pages you will find, among other things, a Klokje Rond inspection of a popular little one: the Fiat 500. Like many ladies of her age, Nicky Raaijmakers fell in love with the 500 and knew the keys to her own copy for a reasonable price to get hold of. On the other hand, her 500 already has quite a bit of experience and that makes it a bit more exciting. Or is it secretly okay and has she done a great job?
Finally, we tie a potent version of a somewhat older model on the rollers again. This week it is a Renault Twingo GT, which should be able to handle the Twingo RS thanks to tuning. That promises a lot, but whether the measurement substantiates that promise …
All this and more can be read in the latest Techzle, which will be in stores this week from Wednesday. Would you rather not go out? Order from the easy chair the latest number. Then it will be delivered to your door within two working days.
