Party at Fiat’s factory in Tychy, Poland. The 2.5 millionth copy of the Fiat 500 reborn in 2007 has come off the production line.

Fiat currently supplies two completely different cars, both called 500. Fiat is running the fully electric 500E side by side with the older 500, the model that was presented in 2007 and modernized in 2015. The Fiat 500, reborn in 2007, rolls off the production line in Tychy, Poland. The 2.5 millionth copy left the Polish factory gates this week.

The birthday girl is a Fiat 500 Hybrid and comes to the door of a French customer. The Fiat 500 Hybrid has a 70 hp, 92 hp 1.0 under the hood, a machine from the Firefly engine family mated to a 12-volt mild hybrid system.

Fiat’s factory in Tychy is used to large numbers. Fiat produced 2,168,000 copies of the second generation Panda and 2,166,000 copies of the Fiat 126p in Poland. If we combine the production numbers of all generations of Fiat 500, the 500 line has produced more than 6.7 million units to date. Launched in 2007, the Fiat 500 generation was also produced in Mexico between 2010 and 2019. The new electric Fiat 500E is produced in Mirafiori, Italy.

In the Netherlands, Fiat has sold 76,928 500s since 2007. This also includes the electric 500E. In 2011, the reborn 500 had its Dutch peak year, when more than 8,000 copies found a Dutch owner.
