Lamborghini has broken a special record with the Urus. During the Days of Speed event on Russia’s Lake Baikal, the Urus drove the highest average speed over a distance of 1,000 meters.
Russian Lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world with a depth of 1,642 meters. The ice layer on top is the annual stage for the Days of Speed event where ridiculous speeds are reached. Lamborghini participated in the event for the first time and immediately returned home with a new record.
Lamborghini parked eighteen-time Days of Speed record holder Andrey Leontyev behind the wheel of an Urus. After a standing start, the Urus managed to put an average speed of 114 km / h behind its name over a distance of one kilometer. The top speed during the record attempt was 298 km / h, although a speed of 302 km / h was measured during a previous test run.
The Urus has a 650 hp and 850 Nm strong 4.0 biturbo V8 in its aggressive looking nose, a machine with which the Urus should be able to reach a top speed of 305 km / h. A sprint from a standstill to 100 km / h is completed in 3.6 counts on asphalt. In 12.8 seconds the 2.2 tonne monster has a speed of 200 km / h on the clock. The record of the Lamborghini Urus is far from relevant, but for the Italians a good time to put the Urus in the limelight.
