Teslas now on sale for Bitcoin

Tesla recently bought more than a billion euros worth of Bitcoin and now accepts the crypto coin as a means of payment. In the Netherlands we just have to wait for that.

At the beginning of February it was announced that Tesla converted € 1.25 billion worth of Bitcoin. Not purely as an investment, but also with the intention to accept the crypto currency as a means of payment. That is now a fact, CEO Elon Musk announced via Twitter. Customers outside the United States will have to wait a few more months before they can buy branded electric cars with the cryptocurrency.

Musk argues that the Bitcoin that the company receives will be held as Bitcoin. The company does not intend to exchange the crypto coins for traditional currencies. Tesla is certainly not the first company to accept Bitcoin. In the Netherlands you can also pay with Bitcoin at Zalando and Thuisbezorgd, among others. The current value is almost € 48,000, so with just a little more than one Bitcoin, a Tesla is already within reach.
