Apple improves your sleep with Night Shift, and now wants you to go to bed on time with the iOS 10 Bedtime function. This is how this smart alarm clock works on your iPhone.
iOS 10 Bedtime, that’s how it works
Your iPhone has gotten all kinds of new features with iOS 10 that Apple has not specifically mentioned. This also applies to Bedtime, a new menu option hidden in the Clock app.
When you first open this tab, you will see a short introduction in which you set your bedtime and the amount of sleeping hours. The app then notifies you when it is almost time to go to bed.
You can easily adjust these settings after this introduction by turning the orange line in the clock. In the options you can further adjust this, so that the iOS 10 Bedtime function becomes really useful. In the options you can indicate the days of the week on which Bedtime is activated. Handy if you get out of bed at other times during the weekend, for example. You can also adjust the Bedtime reminder here and choose the alarm clock sound.
Bedtime gives you useful sleep info
The longer you use Bedtime, the more it benefits you. The app collects data along the way, just like an app like Sleep Cycle does. This way you can see exactly what time you went to bed each day. Valuable information if you are always exhausted at the end of the week, and find out that you may need to get a few extra hours of sleep.
