Tip: Use Superzoom to make your Instagram Stories dramatic

Just before Halloween, Instagram is introducing Instagram Superzoom, a way to make your Stories extra dramatic. We explain how to use it.

Using Instagram Superzoom for your Stories

Instagram Stories just got a lot more dramatic. In addition to features such as ‘Boomerang’ and ‘Rewind’, ‘Superzoom’ has now been added. The idea is that the image zooms in extremely dramatically on a head or a specific object. The exaggerated music completes it.

We expect the feature to return regularly in the Stories we watch in the coming period. You can find Superzoom with the other recording options for Instagram Stories. Are you confused? Then we explain step by step how to use Superzoom and what the other options are.

Tip: Use Superzoom to make your Instagram Stories dramatic
  1. Open Instagram;
  2. Tap the picture of your head at the top left with the plus sign and ‘You’ below it;
  3. At the bottom of the screen, scroll until you see ‘Superzoom’;
  4. Place the square that comes into view on what you want to zoom in on, preferably a face;
  5. Press the record button;
  6. Instagram automatically adds music and you can hear it in the preview before you publish.

Other recording options

In addition to Superzoom, Instagram also offers other recording options while creating an Instagram Story. If you choose ‘Boomerang’, you record a very short piece that is played back and forth every time. Rewind plays the video in reverse order, while Hands Free lets you create a Story without having to hold down the record button. If you choose ‘Live’, you start a live recording that your friends can watch. This live recording can be placed as a Story afterwards.
