Do you like to listen to music before going to sleep? From now on you can set Spotify to close the app automatically after a certain time. We show how this works.
Spotify sleep timer for iOS
Spotify’s sleep timer has been available for Android users for a while, but can also be used on iPhones as of today. While you are settling into bed, you can continue to listen to music without worries. This is how you set the timer:
- Open Spotify and turn on a playlist you want to listen to;
- Tap the three dots at the top right of the screen;
- Scroll down and tap ‘Sleep Timer’ or ‘Sleep Timer’;
- Set after how many minutes you want the music to stop automatically.
Fall asleep carefree
You can recognize the timer by the moon. You no longer have to worry that you will fall asleep while your music is on, because you can set Spotify to stop itself after a certain time. The timer counts down between five minutes and an hour. If you are about to fall asleep, you do not have to wake up to turn off the music.
Similar function in Apple Music
The sleep timer function is now available to everyone, but it may take a while before the update is available to everyone. If you use Apple Music, you have a similar function. Then you put a timer in the standard clock app of iPhone. Via ‘When timer ends’ you choose ‘Stop playing’ at the very bottom of the list.
Earlier, another handy update for iPhone users appeared: Siri support for Spotify. It lets you tell Siri to play a song in Spotify. You can also add a song from Spotify in Snapchat. Do you want to know more? Here’s everything you need to know about Spotify.
