Have you always wanted to become more flexible, learn to play a musical instrument or repair your iPhone yourself? Jumprope makes it possible. Experts teach you the tricks of the trade.
Jumprope: learn the tricks of the trade
Jumprope is a new one do it yourselfapp. The idea is simple. Experts share their best tips, tutorials and wisdom through short, nicely designed videos that you follow step-by-step. An ideal way to learn new skills in an accessible way.
There are different categories including music, fitness, cooking, photography and, for example, fashion. The idea behind Jumprope is not new, but the implementation has been done very well. Each lesson starts with a brief introduction to the teacher and the supplies, such as a guitar or camera.
Then it is explained in a few steps what you are going to do and how it should be done. For example, if you want to learn how to play ‘Wonderwall’ from Oasis, you will see which chords you use.
The teacher then takes a close-up of exactly where he places his fingers on the guitar so that beginners can follow it too. In the same way, sports exercises, dishes and photo editing are also explained calmly.
Why the app is free
You can actually see Jumprope as a collection of YouTube ‘how-to’s’, but divided into clear steps so that you don’t have to rewind every time. The apps is fairly new and therefore still under development. For example, you can filter by category, but not by a specific part.
Imagine you want to learn how to perform a certain taekwondo kick, then you have to look through the range of sports videos yourself. Jumprope instructors make money on products they recommend, making the app free. Please note: there is no competence check. Everyone can therefore register as an ‘expert’.
