Dutch coachbuilder Niels van Roij Design has released an extensive set of design sketches of the Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage. The final car is expected to be presented around the end of the year.
Dutch designer Niels van Roij is working on something special again. His coachbuild company Niels van Roij Design already has several striking creations to his name, including the stubborn Breadvan Hommage. On behalf of a customer, Niels van Roij Design is working on a modern tribute to the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Shooting Brake, a shooting brake converted 356 GTB/4 Daytona. Van Roij now shares a series of design sketches of the Ferrari Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage.
Ferrari 365 GTB / 4 Shooting Brake (1975)
The Dutch coachbuilder previously released a handful of sketches of the Ferrari Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage. Now a series of design sketches has been released showing various versions of the Ferrari tribute. In particular, the design of the lighting differs, the overall line of the car does not. Incidentally, the Shooting Brake Hommage shares its basis with the Ferrari 599, although that car has been considerably redesigned. For example, the Daytona Shooting Brake has a roofline that runs further back and ends in a kind of truncated Kamm tail. Fun fact: he gets remote electrically operated ‘butterfly side windows’.
Niels van Roij Design is currently busy making a full-sized clay model. The project should be completed by the end of this year. Only one instance is created.
