The English GTO Engineering is bringing back a classic Ferrari that normally fetches millions at auctions. The wistful company that produces classic cars built to the smallest nut, will produce the Ferrari California Spyder.
GTO Engineering presents the California Spyder Revival, basically a copy of the Ferrari California Spyder SWB, the short wheelbase version. Ferrari itself has only produced 106 California’s Spyder (SWB and LWB), so that GTO Engineering is bringing that classic back under its own management offers a great opportunity for those who do not have millions in the bank.
That doesn’t mean GTO Engineering’s California Spyder Revival is cheap, though. Depending on the Ferrari you supply as a base, the California Spyder Revival costs between £750,000 and £850,000. The open ‘new classic’ is available with a 3.0-, 3.5- and 4.0-litre V12 (!) petrol engines that can be linked to a manual four- or five-speed gearbox. According to GTO Engineering, there are more than 1,500 man hours in each unit. The body of the car is hand-beaten from aluminum and the interior can be customized to your own taste down to the smallest details.
