The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will be released on Friday, but the first reviews have already been written. Various international media were already allowed to test the iPhone 2021 models and these are the reviews.
iPhone 13 Pro (Max) reviews
Earlier we already discussed the first reviews of the iPhone 13 (mini). In this article you will find a round-up of the more advanced models: the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Among other CNET, The Verge and Engadget have already tested the brand new devices. They praise the Pro models for their great cameras, excellent battery life and stunning 120Hz display.
CNET
The website CNET is happy that the notch – which includes the selfie camera – has become 20 percent smaller. ‘Honestly, I must say that the notch irritates me 20 percent less,’ Patrick Holland writes.
The tech journalist is pleased with the new ProMotion screen, where the screen switches between a refresh rate between 10 and 120HZ. Animations look smoother and everyday things like scrolling through a feed look better.

The Verge
According to Dieter Bohn of The Verge the improvements of the Pro models are significant, although they do not catch the eye. The main upgrades are the battery life, the camera system and a screen with a high refresh rate.
The editor is enthusiastic about the Pro’s new camera system, which especially excels in low light. This is mainly due to the improved camera sensor, which is much larger with pixels of 1.9 µm. It ensures less image noise in low light. “The low-light performance on the 13 Pro is simply unmatched,” he writes.
Bohn is also enthusiastic about the new Film mode, which allows you to take pictures with a depth-of-field effect. However, he has doubts whether it will be used for professional film work. “I’m not going to say it’s a gimmick, but it’s gimmick-adjacent.”

Tom’s Guide
There is great enthusiasm at the Tom’s Guide website. “The iPhone 13 Pro Max’s great cameras, 120Hz ProMotion display, and extended battery life make for a virtually perfect phone.”
Yet it is not all hosanna. Charging can be faster, the design is slimmer and a full screen without a notch is missing. But overall, according to the writer, the Pro is “a beast that can’t be beat.”

TechCrunch
During a trip to Disneyland, TechCrunch’s Matthew Panzarino found that the iPhone 13 Pro’s battery estimates were “pretty” accurate. He also noted that the A15 processor is more powerful than last year’s A14, especially when it comes to graphics.
Like the other reviewers, he is impressed with the camera improvements – especially with the telephoto lens. “Overall, this was one of the best experiences I’ve had testing a smartphone, with a continuous series of wow moments.”
