Motorola Tab G20 official: affordable 8-inch tablet

Motorola has presented its first tablet in years. The Tab G20 is aimed at the budget segment, and it comes with very low specifications and an accessible price. At the moment it has only been presented in India, but we don’t know if it will come to the Netherlands and Belgium.

When we say that Motorola hasn’t proposed tablets for a long time, that doesn’t tell the whole story. Motorola is of course a part of Lenovo, and tablets and Chromebooks are released under the Lenovo name, such as the Lenovo P12 Pro with Android in September. So this time a budget tablet has been released under the Motorola name: the Tab G20, among other things gsmarena.

The device comes with an 8 inch LCD screen that has an HD resolution of 1200 x 800 pixels. The screen edges are relatively small, because the Tab G20 has a screen-to-body ratio of 85 percent. The screen also has a 16:10 ratio. Motorola made the housing from plastic and there is room for a 3.5 mm audio jack and a single speaker on the bottom.

Simple specifications

Under the hood is a MediaTek Helio P22T processor, a chipset intended for devices from the budget segment. The Tab G20 also gets 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. You can also expand that storage via microSD.

The battery is relatively small with its 5,000 mAh capacity, but due to the lower resolution, that shouldn’t be a problem. Charging is possible with a 10 watt charger. As for the software, we see that the Motorola Tab G20 comes with Android 11, and it comes with a very simple camera setup. At the back you will find a 5 MP sensor and at the front a 2 MP camera.

Price and availability

Converted you pay 128 euros for the Motorola Tab G20, but at the moment the device is only announced in India. Due to the low specifications, it is possible that it will not appear on the market with us. We have asked Motorola for a response and will update this article as soon as we have it.
