Plenty of important new arrivals in AutoWeek this week. To start with, the brand new Opel Mokka, which can compete with the popular but now somewhat aging Hyundai Kona. There are also electric versions of both, but we now put the Kona and Mokka with petrol engines next to each other.

A fully electrically powered duo with enormous potential can be seen above. We are referring to the Tesla Model Y with enormous potential, because the Volvo XC40 Recharge has already proven that many Dutch people are waiting for it. Now he can also prove whether Tesla’s youngest offspring can be kept at a distance.

More electrical news is in the form of the Cupra Born. The Spanish cousin of the Volkswagen ID3, or is it just an ID3 with a different sauce? Marco Gorter has the pleasure of finding out. That was not the only electric car that Marco went on the road, because he also subjected the BMW i4 to a test. The i4 kicks down several holy houses at BMW, if only the question is how bad that is.

AutoWeek would not be AutoWeek if there was not also attention for cars with a fuel engine and specifically two copies that are very tasty. The Mercedes-Benz 500 E has a reputation to lick your fingers. The modern equivalent, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S, will probably never become such an icon. Still, Mercedes has come a long way when we compare the two, but which one would we prefer…?
