Porsche 911 (1991) – Into the Wild

In front of us we have a Porsche 911 Carrera 4 from 1991. You might say that’s not true, but it really is. At least it once was. This is a very successful conversion.

If you didn’t know better, you’d say this is a classic primal 911. One of the first generation, which is nicely sporty. It isn’t, however. Stronger even; he is officially not even allowed to have dark blue plates. We are most likely dealing with a 911 taken care of by Singer. The license plate data shows that it is in fact a 964 from 1991 and that is precisely the generation that Singer also uses for his conversions.

Because of its classic basic shape, the 964 was an extremely suitable basis for Singer to combine more modern technology with the classic look of the primal 911. The original body has been almost completely replaced by parts made of carbon fiber. It is also featured on replicas of the famous Fuchs wheels that Porsche already screwed on the 911 in the 1960s. It is also one big classic party in the interior. In the rear you will find the air-cooled 3.6 boxer engine that made its appearance in the 964, mated as standard to the Getrag five-speed gearbox that was also in it. Brembo brakes, a modified chassis and Bilstein dampers ensure that this 911 not only surpasses the primal 911, but also the 964 with its handling.

Although it may be a bit of a fake to the purists to ‘disguise’ a 964 like this, it must be said that Singer did a nice job. It is also a special spot, more than a handful of these Singers are almost certainly not in the Netherlands.
