The Dacia Jogger is not just any car. Oh no. With the Jogger, Dacia has reimagined the family car, the brand writes, taking into account “the appeal of nature adventures and long-distance driving, but also the challenges of modern family life”. Well, that’s also one way to just describe the new Logan MCV…
Back to 2006. Then Dacia introduced the Logan MCV. The station wagon version of the Dacia Logan had a wheelbase over 27 centimeters longer than the sedan and could be ordered with five or seven seats. The new Dacia Jogger is also based on the Logan/Sandero. Its wheelbase grew by no less than 29 centimeters compared to the Sandero (the Logan is not available in the Netherlands). The entire car is even 46 centimeters longer.
Dacia Jogger with handy modular roof rails
Dacia calls the Jogger a combination between a station wagon, MPV and SUV. But that’s just marketing speak for a station wagon with some ‘rough’ plastic on the sides. Depending on the version, the Dacia Jogger is equipped with modular rails on the roof. By this Dacia means that the longitudinally mounted rails can be laid across the roof in a few steps.
Dacia Jogger swallows a maximum of 1819 liters of luggage
The seven-seater Dacia Jogger has three rows of seats, with a three-person sofa behind the front seats, which can be folded down in parts. There are two separate seats in the third row of seats. They can be folded away or taken out completely. With the rear seats and third row of seats folded, a maximum of 1,819 liters of luggage can be carried (standard: 160 litres, with the rear seats flat: 565 litres). As a five-seater, the Jogger packs 708 liters of suitcases, bags and other luggage as standard.
Hybrid version Dacia Jogger will not come until 2023
When the Dacia Jogger comes on the Dutch market at the beginning of 2022, it can be ordered with a 110 hp petrol engine or a 100 hp power source on petrol and LPG. A year later comes the Jogger Hybrid. The first Dacia with hybrid technology uses a 1.6-litre petrol engine, an electric motor and an integrated starter motor/generator. Its battery is only 1.2 kW, but should enable largely electric driving in the city.
