Volkswagen is launching a completely new generation of the Amarok this year. That will be a special model, because the youngest Amarok was developed together with Ford and will be a technical brother of the Ranger. Volkswagen is now releasing a new design sketch of the pick-up.
Volkswagen and Ford work closely together in the field of commercial vehicles. The new Ford Tourneo Connect was the first concrete evidence of this, which is a Volkswagen Caddy on which Ford has poured its own design sauce. According to a similar recipe, the new Volkswagen Amarok will be a technical brother of the Ford Ranger, after all, the exchange also works the other way. Volkswagen is now releasing a new teaser image and information about the upcoming Amarok. The second generation Amarok will make its debut this summer and will be launched in various countries at the end of the year.
Volkswagen Amarok
The new Volkswagen Amarok will be 10 centimeters longer and 4 centimeters wider than the outgoing model. Volkswagen already reports that the Amarok will come on the market with various TDI diesel engines, including a V6 TDI. These are probably the same engines that Ford also hangs in the youngest Ranger. That car is available with 2.0 four-cylinder diesels with single or double turbo and even with a 3.0 V6 diesel. The Ranger will not be on the market in the Netherlands until early 2023.
