There is another new Chinese player in the land of electric cars. We are introduced to the Niutron NV, an electric SUV from a manufacturer whose name is reminiscent of an infant formula manufacturer.

Meet the first automobile creation of the new Chinese brand Ziyoujua whose English name is Niutron. The firstborn of Niutron is the NV. How could it be otherwise: the NV is an electric SUV.

Niutron, founded by the not entirely without controversy acting Li Yingan, previously high in the tree at Huawei and founder of electric scooter manufacturer Niu Technologies, is currently only aiming for the Chinese market with its NV. The design of the NV is a true mixture of various elements, complete with a touch of Bronco Sport and Peugeot 5008. The whole still looks quite balanced and quite unique. The NV is an electric SUV, but thanks to its modular Gemini platform developed by Niutron itself, it is also available with a hybrid powertrain. With this hybrid powertrain, the combustion engine generates energy for the battery pack. The drive is therefore always electric. The electric version shoots to a speed of 100 km/h in just 6 seconds, although Niutron is not exactly generous with information about its first model.

The dimensions of the NV are known. The SUV is 4.92 meters long and 1.75 meters high. There is a distance of 2.9 meters between the front and rear axles. Nice design detail: an LED element has been incorporated in the C-pillar that indicates the status of the battery pack. Nice, but whether it is relevant for other road users how much power is left in the battery is another matter.
