Motorola is ready to launch a new flagship: the Edge 30 Pro. Renders have now been leaked just before launch. Motorola comes with a new camera setup based on two 50 MP cameras. The device also shows a 68W fast charging technology.
Motorola Edge 30 Pro
In recent months we have often talked about Motorola flagships, a product category that has been banned for years and suddenly receives a lot of attention within the company again. Last week we talked about the Motorola Frontier, a top device for the fall. This time a bomb of information has been leaked about the upcoming Motorola Edge 30 Pro.
The Edge 20 series only appeared in the Netherlands in the autumn of 2021, but Motorola now wants to introduce its successor. MySmartPrice already leaks the renders and specifications. The Edge 30 Pro looks familiar to us because it appears to be largely a rebrand of the Motorola Edge X30, which is a flagship that the brand had previously released exclusively in China.
Playful design, recognizable screen
The Motorola Edge X30 has a more playful design compared to its predecessor and you can see that in the camera setup with an oval shape. Unlike the X30, Motorola places its round logo at the bottom left on the back. There will also be no camera under the screen, but there will be a classic notch in the middle of the screen.
The screen of the Edge 30 Pro will be very similar to the Edge 20 Pro, as it is a 6.7-inch Full HD OLED panel. It again has a high refresh rate of 144 Hz, and you can read in the review of the Edge 20 Pro that we were already quite enthusiastic about the screen of that phone.
68W fast charger
The powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset gets a picture in this phone and it runs with 12 GB of RAM. It is also interesting that Motorola can present a powerful fast charging technology this time, namely a 68W charger as we saw with the X30. The Edge 20 series had to make do with 30W fast charging last year. The top phone comes with Android 12 out of the box.
A notable absence of the Motorola Edge 30 Pro is the periscope camera for a large optical zoom range. Motorola opts instead for a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP wide-angle sensor and a 2 MP depth camera. The selfie camera is a remarkable 60 MP one.
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro would be officially unveiled very soon, but a launch date has not yet been announced. Renders of an Ultra variant of this phone that comes with a stylus also appeared earlier. What is your first impression of this new Motorola flagship?
