The new software shell of OnePlus and OPPO has been postponed, according to rumors. OnePlus and OPPO will launch a new shell this spring that is a combination of ColorOS and OxygenOS. So the OnePlus 10 Pro works with OxygenOS 12 instead.
New software postponed
Last year, OPPO and OnePlus announced that they will be working closely together. ColorOS and OxygenOS will have a successor that should combine the advantages of both software environments. The software would be the first to appear on the new OnePlus flagship, the company said.
According to information that 91Mobiles was told, the OnePlus 10 Pro will not appear with the new software shell after all. The launch of the software has been postponed and instead the device will run on OxygenOS 12. OxygenOS 12 is the current shell of OnePlus that is based on Android 12 and also works on the OnePlus 9 series.
In China, where the OnePlus 10 Pro has already been announced, the situation is different. OnePlus launched the smartphone in its home country with OPPO’s ColorOS 12 shell. With us, that will logically be OxygenOS 12 until the phone later receives the update to the new software shell. The OnePlus 10 Pro is expected to hit the market in March.
OnePlus 10 Pro specs
Earlier, the brand has already revealed all the details about the OnePlus 10 Pro. The device appears with a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen that has a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz.
