Microsoft’s Surface Go 3 is a cross between a tablet and a laptop

SUR22 Go3 Feature 002 RGB 2Dennis Gandasoebrata

The Surface Go 3 has by far the smallest dimensions of the laptops we reviewed: the device has a 10.5-inch touchscreen in the 3:2 aspect ratio typical of the Surface line. As far as we are concerned, this aspect ratio may be used more often by hardware manufacturers: the vertical height provides a relatively large amount of work space.

The Surface Go 3 is a cross between a tablet and a laptop, in which you connect and disconnect the keyboard (sold separately) via a magnet. Pen control is also supported.

Don’t expect to get a ‘powerhouse’: the machine comes with a dual-core Intel Pen43um Gold or 10th generation Intel Core i3 processor and 4 or 8 GB of internal memory. The specifications on paper did not immediately give us a comfortable feeling in combination with Windows 11, but in practice the new operating system appears to be surprisingly responsive. Still, the device is not suitable for heavy tasks such as video editing, but more for everyday tasks, such as e-mail and browsing.
