
150 years ago US President Ulysses S. Grant signed the act establishing Yellowstone National Park. Rumors had long circulated in the Wyoming Territory of a fabulously beautiful landscape of hot springs, canyons and waterfalls before several large-scale expeditions to the high-altitude region provided proof. However, not concern for flora and fauna, but the commercial interests of a railroad investor prompted the American Congress to set up the first national park in the United States of America in Yellowstone.
