The Sony LinkBuds S should offer the best of both worlds

Sony has presented the LinkBuds S. According to Sony, the 200 euro earphones must excel in wearing comfort, without sacrificing the listening quality that Sony is known for.

Sony hasn’t been sitting still lately. Last week, the Sony WH1000-XM5 headphones were announced. Now it’s time for a headset. The Sony LinkBuds S are in-ear buds of 4.8 grams, with which Sony tries to stand out because of the comfortable fit. The LinkBuds S therefore fall in between the affordable and comfortable WF-C500 earphones and the pricey, megalomaniac WF1000-XM4. Fortunately without sticking to a cryptic product name.

Small and powerful

Despite the fact that the earphones are relatively small and light, the brand does not try to compromise on the sound experience. There is noise reduction and an ambient mode and a lot of functionality that you control with the Sony Headphones app. For example, 360 audio, speak-to-chat and sound settings that adapt to the environment.

The Sony LinkBuds are also splash-proof (IPX4) and, according to Sony, offer a battery life of 6 hours with noise suppression. The charging case ensures that you can listen for a total of about twenty hours before it needs to be charged. Charging is only possible via the USB-C connection. Wireless charging is not possible.

Availability

The Sony LinkBuds S will be available from the end of May for 200 euros. The ears are available in black, white and cream.
