Owners of an Apple Watch Series 4 or Apple Watch Series 5 now have an extra reason to look forward to the update. Apple is solving an annoying battery problem in watchOS 9.
These two Apple Watches do not display the battery condition properly. This includes the maximum capacity of the battery in your Apple Watch. The description of the second watchOS 9 developer beta describes an improvement in maximum battery capacity.
This is specifically noted for the Apple Watch Series 4 and Apple Watch Series 5. It can also be read that the update to watchOS 9 automatically calibrates the battery capacity.

New in watchOS 9
WatchOS 9 doesn’t just solve the battery problem. Many other improvements are also coming. Athletes in particular get a lot of functions with watchOS 9.
