Under the Banner of Heaven (season 1)

A brand new crime series will appear on the Disney streaming platform on July 27. Under the Banner of Heaven tells the true story of a Utah detective. Jeb Pyre is a fanatic adherent of the Mormon Church. After a double murder of a young woman and her fifteen-month-old daughter, the detective tries to find a balance between justice and his religion. It turns out that a renowned family within the Christian community is linked to the atrocities. The seven episodes are set in the 1980s. Jeb Pyre is played by the famous actor Andrew Garfield.

Pistol (season 1)

Of pistol a series about the rise and fall of the Sex Pistols will be released on July 6. Although the former punk band from the 1970s released relatively little music, they are regarded as the founders of the punk movement. The curtain fell for the music group after a few years. This was partly due to the excessive use of various stimulants. Bassist Sid Vicious, for example, died of an overdose at the age of 21. Shortly before that, his girlfriend died under suspicious circumstances.

The launch of Pistol is sensitive. The series is based on a book by band founder Steve Jones, but singer John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten) is not happy with the six episodes. According to him, Disney+ creates a fairy tale from the Sex Pistols. Watch the trailer below and judge for yourself!

The Princess

Subscribers can enjoy the fairytale drama from July 1th The Princess admire on Disney+. The main character has a rebellious character and refuses to marry Prince Julius. She doesn’t like him and likes to make her own choices when it comes to love. Unfortunately, the current king decides that the two must still tie the knot. The princess does not want that, after which Julius locks her in a remote tower of the castle.

America The Beautiful

Beautiful nature series from National Geographic regularly land on Disney+. America The Beautiful is an excellent example of this. The six episodes can be seen from July 4. As the name suggests, this documentary series zooms in on American flora and fauna. North to be precise.

Of course the black bear comes by, but the series also pays attention to all kinds of other interesting animals. Think of the wolf, humpback whale, owl, snake, puma, eagle and alligator. Aftershock

In the United States, black mothers in certain hospitals still do not receive the medical care they sometimes so desperately need. As a result, a striking number of black women die each year from the complications of childbirth. The Critical Documentary Aftershock aims to change that once and for all. Two male relatives turn out to be activists, trying to wake up the American authorities. Aftershock will premiere on July 19.
