MG has shown a set of design sketches from a very interesting newcomer. We are introduced digitally to the Cyberster, a concept car with which the brand clearly plays with the idea of a roadster!
Today’s MG has not been the brand it used to be for years. The portfolio of the Chinese-owned brand since 2005 currently mainly consists of sedans and crossovers, including even the fully electric ZS EV with which the brand does considerable business in the Netherlands. We have not seen an open MG since the disappearance of the TF, but that may change soon.
MG has shown a set of design drawings of the Cyberster, a study model in the form of an open two-seater. The Cyberster, equipped with an unspecified electric drivetrain, has a long bonnet and a strikingly short and sharply cut buttocks where straight LED lamps define the image. The headlights, which are of course also equipped with LED technology, are strikingly round. The MG logo that has been placed between the viewers is also illuminated.
There is no mention of concrete production plans or technical specifications. We keep our fingers crossed that MG puts on the naughty shoes and eventually launches a production model derived from this striking looking show car.
