Citroën Jumpy: all the details

Electric version Van of the Year

Citroën Jumpy 2020

Citroën Jumpy

The electric Citroën Jumpy will enter the Dutch market in the second half of this year. Time to list all the specifications of the ë-Jumpy.

Citroën presents the ë-Jumpy, the fully electrically powered version of the medium-sized commercial vehicle with which the brand won the title Van of the Year six months ago. The car comes in two battery variants, with a slightly larger range than previously promised. With a 50 kWh battery pack, you can travel up to 230 km (according to the theoretical WLTP measurement), with a 75 kWh pack up to 330 km. Ideal for daily trips between 150 and 250 km.

The former appears in the length variants XS (4.60 meters), M (4.95 meters) and XL (5.30 meters), the latter only as M and XL. The loading volume varies from 4.6 m3 in the XS up to 6.6 m3 in the XL equipped with Moduwork. This is a folding passenger seat with a loading facility for long items, which can also be transformed into a mobile office. The payload – unaffected by the fuel variant because the batteries are under the floor – amounts to a maximum of 1,275 kg. With the ë-Jumpy you can also tow a trailer up to 1,000 kg.

Motor and battery

The maximum speed is 130 km / h in all driving modes. The electric motor delivers 100 kW (136 hp) and 260 Nm of torque. Instead of a gear lever, the ë-Jumpy has a shift knob. The warranty on the drivetrain, including battery, is 8 years or 160,000 km. The dashboard has a charge indicator and a meter for energy consumption. The rest can be controlled by the driver via the touchscreen or (remotely) via the My Citroën app.

Charging the lithium-ion battery can be done at an electrical outlet, a charging point or a fast charging station. An 11 kW 3-phase charger is standard on board the van. Charging up to 80 percent on a 100 kW DC fast charger takes 30 minutes for the 50 kWh battery and 45 minutes for the 75 kWh battery.

Versions

The order list – currently without price tags – has four versions. The basic version of the ë-Jumpy comes with air conditioning, cruise control, electric parking brake and electrically operated and heated exterior mirrors. Parking sensors are added to the Club, with fixed double cabin. DAB +, smartphone exchange, Lane Departure Warning and other driver assistance systems are characteristic of the Driver. That is the ë-Jumpy with raised wheel suspension, underbody protection and Grip Control aimed at many riders. The extra manoeuvrable CityVan comes standard with a 180-degree camera, Keyless Entry and DAB +.

In addition to fifteen assistance systems, the entrepreneur can choose from three connectivity packages when ordering. A handy feature are the sliding doors that can be operated hands-free. A foot movement is sufficient to open or close the side doors and to lock them.
