The men and women of the American Hennessey Performance have got their hands dirty on the GMC Sierra, the sister model of the Chevrolet Silverado.
The current GMC Sierra generation was introduced to the American public in early 2018, and that pickup is now decked out as ‘Goliath’ by Hennessey Performance. The tuner based in the US state of Texas pours the pick-up with a sauce that the company has perfected over the years.
Hennessey Performance has been screwing powerful superchargers on American-made products for years and this time it is the GMC Sierra on which such a supercharger is mounted. Incidentally, not just one, because the supercharger that is mounted on the basic 420 hp 6.2-liter V8 has a capacity of 2.9 liters. This kicks the V8 on the dynamometer to a hefty 700 hp. The eight-cylinder also benefits from a new, extra sturdy crankshaft and the pushrods are also adapted to handle the larger internal forces.
The Sierra, which, as said, bears the name ‘Goliath’ in this version, is more than 15 centimeters higher on its legs and off-road tires are folded around the new 20-inch wheels. Hennessey also has a modified front bumper with built-in LED bar and a copy with bullbar on the menu. Under the car is a modified stainless steel exhaust system and the interior is covered with leather. The tuner asks almost € 28,000 for the motor tuning and the optical adjustments. The Goliath package is also available for the Sierra’s technical twin brother, the Chevrolet Silverado.
