Electric Q8

It has been buzzing in the corridors for a while, but has now been confirmed. The electric Audi E-tron and Audi E-tron Sportback will receive a different model name after their facelift. Audi adds the pair to the Q8 family and so they are successively called Audi Q8 E-tron and Q8 Sportback E-tron.
The Audi E-tron and E-tron Sportback are currently the highest-ranking models in the Audi SUV world. The pair seem to remain so. At 4.9 meters long, the two electric SUVs are clearly a size larger than cars like the 4.68 meter long Q5. Audi will introduce the Q6 E-tron in the Q5 segment in the foreseeable future. The electric E-tron club will be expanded in the coming years and so it is time for the electric SUVs that are now simply called ‘E-tron’ to also make clear their position within the family with their model name.
Audi releases on its social channels that it will soon pull the curtain on the Q8 E-tron. The name change that Audi is making on its electric SUV coincides with a facelift that does not bring great news on the outside, but which probably improves on a technical level. The Q8 E-tron 50 reportedly gets a 95 kWh battery, the 55 so-called versions get 115 kWh in their bottom.
It is somewhat striking that Audi is adding the E-tron models to the Q8 family. The Audi Q8 is an SUV with a sloping roofline that is a sportier alternative to the Q7 and that will share little with the Q8 E-tron and Q8 Sportback E-tron.
On November 9, Audi will unveil the Q8 E-tron and Q8 Sportback E-tron.
