The latest version of iOS can now be installed on your iPhone. iOS 16.1.1 finally fixes the persistent Wi-Fi issue that has been widely complained about.
Install iOS 16.1.1
iOS 16.1 came out two weeks ago and that came with a number of problems. iOS 16.1.1 finally fixes these issues. The update is available for the iPhone 8 and newer, for all models of the iPad Pro, for the iPad Air 3rd generation and newer, and the iPad (Mini) 5th generation and newer.
This is how you download iOS 16.1.1:
- Make sure your iPhone or iPad battery is at least 50 percent charged, or connect the charger;
- Go to the Settings app and tap “General”;
- Choose “Software Update” and tap “Download and Install.”
Bug fixes iOS 16.1.1
iOS 16.1 was a relatively major interim update. In it, both live activities and the shared library have been added to iOS. After installing iOS 16.1 on their iPhone, many users suddenly encountered a Wi-Fi issue where the Wi-Fi connection was disconnected at random times. iOS 16.1.1 has finally fixed this problem.
Furthermore, iOS 16.1.1 does not contain major changes, according to Apple itself, the update is mainly intended to solve minor problems and to perform security updates. The next major update is expected next month.
No major changes in iPadOS 16.1.1
As of today, an update of iPadOS is also available. The new iPadOS update is also mainly about minor bug fixes and security updates. iPadOS 16.1.1 also fixes the annoying Wi-Fi issue, and Apple doesn’t provide details on what other issues have been fixed.
iOS 16.2: Bigger Update Coming in December
The new version of iOS is planned for next month. The second beta of iOS 16.2 has now been released, so we know roughly what to expect from the next update.
