Still with his first owner
It doesn’t get much nicer than this: a current-looking once ordinary car that is offered for a friendly price by its first owner. This Ford Sierra must go to an enthusiast, although he probably won’t have to wait long for it.
Last month we brought a neat Ford Mondeo to our attention, now it’s the turn of its predecessor. This Ford Sierra is more impressive than the Mondeo in several ways. Not only because the Sierra enjoys more of an enthusiast status because of its age, but especially because it is still with its first owner. Literally, because it has never changed owners and is shown in the photos in front of the garage where it (if we are to believe the ad text) has spent many nights. How nice is that? You can safely call it a great opportunity to buy a 32-year-old classic directly from the person who has driven it all these years.
Based on the photos, we dare to assume that the Sierra has lived its life largely covered. He generally looks good from the outside. The fact that the black plastic bumpers, mirrors and door handles are not or hardly discolored seems to be an indication that it was indeed an ‘indoor sleeper’. The interior may also still be there. The seat pads are more likely to protect the upholstery than to hide damage. This is proven in any case with a chair with a photo. The Sierra’s mileage is certainly not wrong; 137,215 miles. It should be noted, however, that there is a five-digit counter and that this position will therefore have to be shown on the basis of maintenance papers. Given the beautiful external condition, it is likely that the indicated mileage is correct.
Anyway, it seems like a nice opportunity for the enthusiast, especially because the asking price of €1,950 is not very crazy. It must be said that it is of course not really a special example among the Sierras. It is a fairly ‘late’, the common hatchback and also in a very common version. Not only when it comes to equipment and engine, it is a 2.0 CLX, but also the color is very typical. On the other hand, that makes it a nice Sierra, because this is really a typical piece of the era from the early 90s. Isn’t it all about hobby, but are you just looking for a spacious car for not too much money that its performance can still keep up with modern traffic? Then you have also come to the right place at the Sierra. It is of course not very efficient, luxurious or safe by today’s standards, but you will get from A to B just fine.
