Sonos is working on a number of new products in four new categories in which Sonos is not yet active. Read what Sonos CEO Patrick Spence reported here.
Sonos is a well-known name in the audio field thanks to good and stylish products such as the Sonos Ray compact soundbar and the Sonos Move. Sonos is also known for its collaboration with IKEA, such as the Ikea Symfonisk smart painting speaker. In addition, Sonos partnered with Audi for sound systems. According to Sonos, the stretch in the sale of smart speakers is a bit out. So new product categories are being looked at, as evidenced by Sonos CEO Patrick Spence’s presentation of the Sonos quarterly results.
Sonos headphones
According to Spence, the global audio market is worth $96 billion a year and there are many opportunities to expand in this area. Those new product categories in which it is not yet active are expected to have their first announcement in fiscal year 2023, Spence said.
For years there has been talk of Sonos headphones, whether wireless or not (and we go for wireless). For example, in 2020 patent applications showed that Sonos was developing headphones. In addition, Sonos already bought a company that makes software for wireless connections with headphones. Just as the smart speakers in your home play (the same) sound in several rooms, the headphones must work together with other Sonos speakers. The moment we hear more from Sonos about a new headphone, you can read it here on our site.
