Bose has a reputation to uphold in the audio field. Read the review of the Bose Quietcomfort Earbuds II here or that too for this one in-ears or earplugs.

The Quietcomfort Earbuds have already been published by Bose, the review of which can be found here. Those updated QuietComfort EarBuds had to compete in particular with Apple’s AirPods Pro in terms of price and functions. We have now moved on for a while and Bose came up with this second version of Bose Quietcomfort Earbuds II. These have been further optimized. The first thing you notice is that they are smaller and lighter (6.24 grams). Furthermore, the operation of the active noise reduction (ANC) and the reproduction of the sound have been optimized.

Performance
We test the black version, in addition a gray / beige (soapstone) version available. The storage or charging box is quite large and in black with a USB-C connection. The battery capacity of the earphones is approximately 6 hours and the charging box provides a reserve supply for another 18 hours. Wireless charging is unfortunately not available. You have to grab the earplugs at an angle to easily remove them from the box, which could use some optimization.

Earbuds
The sides of the caps are glossy black with a matte front. They feature thin tips to seal the ear and stay put. In the package we also find the tips in the S and L sizes and other stability straps that further seal the hearing. For optimal passive isolation from outside noise, twist the earplugs in your ear until you feel that the elliptical tips are in place. The stems are slightly forward. Through the Bose Music app, you can use the Ear tip test testing the outside sound barrier. Tip can be changed if necessary. Immediately after you put the earbuds in, a floating sound follows that measures the operation of the earbuds and optimizes the sound accordingly. The Bluetooth 5.3 pairing with the smartphone or other devices goes through the first time Institutions and then automatically. The earbuds only support one pairing at a time. Supported codecs are limited to SBC and AAC. With IPX4, the caps are splash-proof.

ANC/Aware
There are two standard modes: Active Noise Reduction or Quiet (Quit) or No NC (Aware). In addition, other settings can be made where the level of noise reduction can be set between 0% and 100%. A mode can be used for windy weather Outside recorded with 0% suppression to give wind gusts little chance of negatively affecting the sound. The ANC tests give excellent results and are top class. The awaremode works with ActiveSensetechnology that reduces external noise at high volume.

Sound
We know Bose from the small speakers that produce a big sound. You can achieve that with these earphones. That sounds high quality with a clean sound with solid dynamics. An equalizer is present in the app if you want to shift the accents. According to the other side, telephone conversations are perfectly audible, with which the 4 microphones per earplug are also approved.

Service
In addition to standard control via the Bose Music app or the music or podcast apps, the earbuds can also be operated via the touch-sensitive sides via tap and swipe. These actions can be adjusted in the app to your own taste. You can also set so-called quick functions, for example to call up the voice assistant.

Conclusion
The Bose Quietcomfort Earbuds II are well-fitting earbuds with high-quality sound and well-functioning ANC. We miss a second bluetooth connection and high-res codecs.
