Red Bull RB19 presented: new F1 car Verstappen

In New York, Red Bull Racing presents the Formula 1 car with which it hopes to win the drivers’ and constructors’ title again this year. The Red Bull RB19 is a further development of last year’s title-winning RB18, you can count on the fact that the RB19 shown now is only a show model with the previous car as a basis and we will only see more clearly what is new at the winter test in Bahrain later this month . It is now mainly about the color scheme and the sponsorship on the car.

Although, like every year, there were rumors that Red Bull would now go for a radically different color scheme for the first time in years, it will not come to that this time either. Red Bull enters 2023 with the well-known matte dark blue, accompanied by some black and the Red Bull colors red and yellow.

The biggest news in this presentation is therefore essentially not to be found on the RB19, but further in the future. After all, Ford announced just before the presentation of the RB19 that it would return to Formula 1 in 2026 and that has been linked to the Red Bull team for some time. Now the high word is out. In the coming years, Red Bull will continue with the V6 developed by Honda, but with the introduction of the new regulations in 2026, Red Bull will be working with Ford. That doesn’t mean Ford builds the powertrain and Red Bull hangs it in the car. Red Bull Powertrains, the dedicated engine facility that Red Bull is setting up in Milton Keynes, will build the V6. They will then be labeled as Ford, although there may be more at play. Technical support and possibly also the development of the electrical components will probably fall on Ford’s plate. Red Bull’s sister team AlphaTauri will soon pull the curtain on its new F1 car in New York and then logically the deal between Ford and that team will also be confirmed.
