On Monday evening, September 27, the A12 between Utrecht and The Hague was partially closed. This already caused delays on Dutch roads on Tuesday morning.
ANP reports that it was relatively busy on Dutch roads on Tuesday morning due to the A12 partly closed between Utrecht and The Hague. According to Flitsmeister, this morning was even the busiest morning rush of the year. The traffic on the road is probably mainly caused by people who have to take a detour. ANWB reports that there was 468 kilometers of traffic jams. On 7 April there was 429 kilometers of traffic jams, after Tuesday 27 September the day with the most kilometers of traffic jams this year.
Just before 9 am, the Dutch morning rush hour reached a total delay of 1,457 minutes, considerably more than this year’s old ‘record’ (806 minutes). The biggest delays were on the A28 between Zwolle and Amersfoort (70 minutes) and on the A27 between Breda and Utrecht (59 minutes). Incidentally, it is not only the fact that the A12 is partially closed, but also the fact that ‘we’ go to the office more often.
On Monday evening, the A12 was closed for about 5 kilometers between the Oudenrijn junction near Utrecht and Nieuweburg for nine days for major maintenance. Until 5 a.m. on 7 October, motorists from Utrecht to The Hague are advised to take a detour via Amsterdam via the A2, A9 and A4. You can read more about the closure of the A12 here.
