There were already rumors that Apple wants to introduce a new version of the AirPods Pro in 2022. Now we know a more specific release date. Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has information that the AirPods Pro 2 release will take place in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The new AirPods Pro will get a new design and improved chip, according to Kuo. If we go by previous rumors, there is a good chance that the stem will disappear completely. This makes the design comparable to the Beats Fit Pro and Google Pixel Buds.
Furthermore, Apple seems to be adding several health features. The AirPods Pro 2 are said to be able to measure heart rate. Built-in motion sensors also enable fitness features. We can also expect improved noise cancellation.
And Apple will probably also put a new chip in it, which replaces the H1 chip. This should make the AirPods Pro more energy efficient. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg previously predicted better battery life. With the AirPods Pro you have 4.5 hours of listening time on a single charge, but that will probably be even longer. The charging case is good for more than 24 hours of listening time.
